I gained this week. Very disappointed with myself. I'm back up to 151.3. Chase thinks part of it might be muscle, but I'm not buying it. As I said before I quit the Candida Cleanse so I've been eating whatever I want. Plus with us being out of town it made things even worse.

I am doing a fitness challenge. It's called #NOEXCUSES Fitness Challenge. A couple of blogs are hosting it. Basically it's doing 75 miles of excersise in 31 days (month of July) mostly focusing on Cardio. I'm 2 days in and I've got 9 miles done!

I'm really excited about this challenge because it will keep me excersising and I'm pushing myself to get my miles in. Because of this goal and in fear of gaining muscle weight I'm not focusing on the circuit anymore. I'm focusing on cardio. Which for someone in my shape that is most important for me anyway.

So this is my new workout routine: No rest for the weary!
Sunday: Walk Away The Pounds Video- 2 Miles
Monday: Treadmill 1 mile Elliptical 1.5 miles
Tuesday: Bike 9 Miles WATP- 1 Mile
Wednesday: Elliptical 1.5 Miles Bike 6 miles
Thursday: Arc Trainer 1 Mile Bike 6 miles
Friday: Bike 6 miles Treadmill 1 mile
Saturday: 2.5 Miles on Machine of Choice

I will throw in Walk Away The Pounds Video when I can. It is awesome for working out at home. And then of course portion control is a big one and the hardest!

The working out portion of this is going amazing! My Sister-In-Law Karen and I are swapping babysitting to go to the gym. It's really getting me to go. I feel like I can't miss, the only downside it working out takes like 3 hours because we go in shifts. As long as I'm going right. Another bonus that is keeping me going is Chase is doing it with me! For the most part anyway. Getting fit is so much easier when you have someone helping you along the way.

Here is to another week with pounds lost!C.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-32149130388634737562014-06-25T07:52:00.001-07:002014-06-25T07:52:35.595-07:0030 Week Challenge: Week 3A little bit of mixed emotions today. Today was weigh in for week 3. I'm very pleased because I lost another 2.4 pounds bringing me to 249.8 total! The bad is I've pretty much quit the Candida Cleanse. I just couldn't do it anymore. However with that being said I've still done pretty well on it.

The first day we went to Amazing Jakes. This is when I went a little crazy, but not too overboard. I had a little of everything so dieting wise it was probably ok, just not for Candida. And then since then I've had a little bit of stuff here and there, but nothing to drastic. Mostly just dressings and tortillas. I am still intending to eat better through the year and well pretty much life. Whooo!

Part of my reasoning for quiting the cleanse was because it was really hard. Another part is I just keep getting discouraged. I keep thinking to myself, I'm working dang hard, DANG hard and I probably still wont get pregnant (which is the main reason for doing the cleanse). So I just kept telling myself it's not worth it. So now I'm just going to focus on losing the weight, and not the candidia.

This weeks goal is to do this total workout circuit workout. It has machines to work out arms and legs and then inbetween each machine you do cardio of different things on a step. I really like it, but don't always do it because it's easier to just get on the elliptical or bike and watch something. So my goal for this week and other weeks is to do it 3 times a week.

I really want to do the gym 5 times a week would be ideal. Here is my gym plan goal...
Sunday- REST
Monday- Circuit with elliptical
Tuesday- Bike, Elliptical Abs
Wednesday- Circuit with Bike
Thursday- REST
Friday- Elliptical, bike abs
Saturday- Circuit with arc trainer

A lot of people have Saturday be their rest day and then Sunday because of church, but I don't want to do 2 days of resting in a row. So I'm hoping to get to the gym on Saturdays. Planet Fitness is open 24 hours so really it should be possible. Even if I have to go after Ryder is in bed.

Of course this week is going to be different because Thursday evening we are heading up to Show Low until Monday. We'll of course go on a walk/ hike, but not much else.

My first milestone goal is at week 6 which is July 16, goal weight is 240. So a little over 2 pounds a week. I can do this!

C.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-837495996785218562014-06-20T00:29:00.001-07:002014-06-20T00:29:40.349-07:00Ugh!Why does this have to be so hard? Considering the dinner I had tonight I shouldn't be complaining. But here I am at Midnight playing dominion with Chase through FB as he's eating some cheetos. All I'm wanting is to join in. And that is where the ugh comes in!

It is so ridiculous how last night I had this awesome moment where it got me all pumped and motivated and now here I am wanting to give up. Oh temptation...

Tonight we actually had a pretty kick butt meal. We signed up to feed the missionaries so I wanted to have something I could eat as well because that would be kind of awkward. So we had salad and broccoli and then white rice & brown rice and grilled chicken. One was marinated in a Lawry's marinade of Tuscan Sun Dried Tomatoes or something like that. Of course it has vinegar, sugar and I'm sure plenty other that I can't have. The other grilled chicken was just olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic (granulated), and minced onion. It was so good!!! I ate more than I should have, but I didn't care because it is rare that I get full these days. The rest of the day I had some blueberries, some mixed veggies (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower) and some crackers.

The others also had a cupcake left over from yesterdays Den Meeting for scouts.

So again I contemplate how long I'm going to do the candida diet for. We are going to my Grandpa's house in Show Low next weekend for several days. I'm considering not being as strict because I imagine it will be a lot more difficult. We'll see. I'm hoping I have the strength to keep up this weight loss until the end of the year. 28 more weeks to go!C.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-2226260633020659332014-06-18T23:23:00.000-07:002014-06-18T23:27:02.100-07:0030 Week Challange: Week 2It has only been 2 weeks! So depressing! I'm counting down the days until I can eat a piece of bread. Every day I keep trying to decide what I want my first meal to be... that is so bad!!!

Today was official end of week 2 so I did my weigh in. I'm 152.2 pounds. I was hoping I would have lost more this past week, but I'll take it. So in the 2 weeks I've lost 10 pounds, only 52.2 more to go until 2015!

I am very proud of how I've been going to the gym/ working out this week. I've done something every day (minus Sunday)! Tomorrow might be my rest day I haven't decided yet. I've mostly done the elliptical. I'm hoping to start adding in the circut they have at Planet Fitness 3 times a week. It is a whole body workout with cardio in between each machine. It is a really nice workout!

I'm getting very discouraged. Because I am very limited on what I can eat and most of it requires cooking of some kind I find myself not wanting to eat. For example today I had almonds and a piece of turkey bacon up until dinner. For dinner we went to Amazing Jakes. I was complaining to Chase that a salad did not sound appealing at all so he stopped at KFC on the way and got me a piece of grilled chicken. I'm sure a strict candida dieters no-no, but I had to. (PS Still hungry)

I feel myself getting less motivated. Now when I say motivated I mean to do this cleanse not to lose weight. I am actually really pumped to lose weight and get healtier, I just don't like doing it in this extreme way. I'm very worried by the time I am done with the cleanse portion I'm going to be so ready for real food that I am going to over do it and everything will be wasted.

To help me stay on track I created a facebook group. It seems to be getting a lot of excitement going. There are about 20 of us in it. We post our goals for that week and we can share recipes and such. With me being the admin of it, I feel like I have a higher responisibility to remain on course to reach my goal! If you are interested in joining it let me know and I'll add you.

My goal this week is to up my water in take. My goal is 130 oz. That is a lot of water! It makes me have to pee like every half hour (no joke!). It makes it very hard to do errands. ugh! I'm hoping if I keep it up then my body will get use to it? Idk but I hope so.

Ok I feel so silly right now, here I am getting all teary eyed. I was just ready to type out how I am not sure when I want to end the cleanse. Everyday I reconsider going until July part of me want to quit when I am done with the PB Assist part of the cleanse. (which would be next week [10 days early]) So as I was sitting here thinking about how badly I just want to be done, my wedding band came off my finger! I don't know when was the last time it came off. In a past post I mentioned that I was putting the slim & sassy on my ring finger to help that get slimmer faster. Well it seems to be working! I feel like this is what I needed to keep me going. I'm already seeing improvements! Because of this little "sign" I feel like I'm doing something that is good for me and that I should be doing!

Here is to another 2+ weeks! I'm in this for the long haul!C.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-62468451594528316462014-06-16T13:34:00.002-07:002014-06-16T13:34:29.318-07:0030 Week Challenge: Week 1.5This week has been rough. I was super excited to lose 7 pounds in my first week and was hoping to keep that up for atleast another week, but as of now I'm only 1 pound down from Wednesday.
This week was the worst weekend to be doing a cleanse. My brother and sister were in town from Washington so there was tons of food to be had and I couldn't eat pretty much any of it. This is what my weekend looked like...

Thursday: Bryan & Brittany's family arrived in the afternoon. Mom made lasagna for dinner with salad and garlic bread. I couldn't eat that though so I made my own dinner. I can't even remember what I had. We went swimming and then came back and had ice cream sandwhiches. I made a slim trim smoothie instead.

Friday: (Lunchtime) This summer Amazing Jakes is doing a special where is was $50 per person for 3 hours of rides and games plus their buffet everyday until August 31st. It was such a good deal we go it along with Davis family and my parents. Unfortunately on this cleanse the only thing I can have is the salad (without dressing). So Friday we went there so the kids would have something to do. I helped my salad taste a little better and put pineapple on top to act as the dressing, although on a strict candida diet I'm pretty sure canned fruit is a no-no.

(Dinner) Dad made fajitas and it was a homemade taco seasoning I made the last time I did the cleanse so it was candidia friendly! This was the best meal I think I've had this go around. I couldn't do a tortilla or cheese or anything. I did make a little guacamole to go with it. That was a good night and I actually got full:)

(Dessert) Chase thought he'd be a family favorite and make cookies. I didn't have any and I helped make them. Talk about self control!

Saturday: My oldest Neice Brittney was baptized!!! So proud of her. After the baptism they had a little luncheon. They served sub sandwhiches and different salads (non of which I could eat) they also had fruit skewers, chips, and cupcakes. Oh and a lemeonade. I brought with me some raw broccoli (not that great without something to dip it in). That was all that I could grab because we were running late. I also had one fruit skewer and got myself some water instead of lemonade. Chase made me cheat a little bit and took the lettuce, tomato and turkey lunchmeat off of one of the subs and I ate that. It was so good!

Brittney Ann Packer Baptized June 14, 2014

(Dinner) Since we were spending all week together and BP was leaving early Sunday morning we decided to do Father's Day Saturday instead. Brittany was really wanting Geno's Pizza so we got that for dinner. Bonus Dad wouldn't have to cook. Mom also had leftover pasta salad and Jason & Steph brought leftover Subs from the luncheon. Plus since I didn't know what to give my dad for Father's Day I decided to make these garlic knots I make ( a huge no-no!). I made myself some brown rice, asparagus, broccoli, and canned chicken stir fry type of thing. Definitely not appealing.

Sunday: Lunch was a on your own type of thing. I had a sliver of lunch meat and I mixed some canned chicken with hard boiled egg and onion together with some greek yogurt that is probiotic. It was decent.

Dinner: We had leftovers so lasagna, garlic bread, corn, and pizza. I made myself a slim trim smoothie because I wasn't in the mood for anything else. I cheated here and had a small bite of lasagna. After dinner I made some guacamole to have with blue corn chips.

I am very proud of how I ate this weekend. I kept getting compliments at how well I was doing considering all the food I was surrounded by. I've done a little more research for "normal" food that is candida diet friendly. Tonight I'm making taco salad and tomorrow I'm doing BLT salad with homemade dressing. Using turkey bacon. I'm pretty excited about these meals.

While I feel like I'm doing a good job I can't wait to be done. I've found out not being able to eat food makes me cranky. This weekend having EVERYONE over made me wiped out.

I started the PB Assist portion of the doTERRA cleanse and will do that for 10 days. I was hoping to do 2 rounds of the cleanse, but that would put me until the beginning August and I don't think I can last that long, this is tough.

My sister/in laws are joining the eat better brigade so hopefully that will help me better. Obviously not doing anything as strict as I am, but it will help. Here is to a skinny 2014!C.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-18290103900422622192014-06-11T13:37:00.000-07:002014-06-16T13:40:47.581-07:0030 week challenge: week 1

If you missed my original post about what the 30 week challenge is you can see the past post here. Or long post short there are 30 weeks left in 2014. I'm doing a weight loss goal to hit my weight loss goal to get down to 200 pounds. This would be a huge accomplishment for me!

Today was the end of week 1 for me and I'm very pleased with today's weigh in. I weighed myself Monday and I was down 4lbs so I was hoping for 5lbs today. My total weight loss is 7lbs!!!
Obviously it will be easier at first because I've made a huge change in what I'm eating. My goal for next week is to lose another 5lbs. (5 seems like a nice safe number) however more is welcome.

I'm adding working out into the mix. Last night I biked 4 miles. So that should help.
The is next week is going to be challenging. My brother & his family are coming down from Washington tomorrow. Of course everything revolves around food so the menu delish and I can't have pretty much any of it. Then on Saturday my oldest Niece is getting Baptized with a luncheon to follow. I'm pretty certain the food there will not be candida diet friendly.
Chase keeps telling me I'm strong for doing this. He keeps asking what he can do to help and I always respond don't let me quit. There are times I feel like I just want to give up that it is too hard. But I just remind myself this is what I want and it will be worth. It in the long run.
How are your challenges going? C.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-14888983034777548492014-06-09T11:04:00.000-07:002014-06-09T11:04:31.901-07:0030 Week IntroFirst off I know it has been FOR. EV. ER, but life happens and then you forget. Someday I'll do some catch up posts, but I have a goal for this post so it wont be today.

A few months back I started using essential oils, doTERRA specifically. As you may or may not know I am struggling with secondary infertiliy That is where you have trouble getting pregnant when you already have a child. It has been rough. We've been trying for about 2 1/2 years. So while researching which oils can help with infertility I came across Candida. Everyone has it, but when you have an overgrowth it can cause problems. I have some of the sypmtoms so I'm thinking I have an overgrowth. So I am trying to get that under control.

Candida is a yeast bacteria. So in order to kill it off you have to starve it. So that means eating no sugar, yeast, carbs, etc. It is a very strict diet and it is very limited to what you can eat. IT'S TOUGH!!! So I'm taking this chance to kick off a weight loss challenge!

Did you kow there are 30 weeks left in the year? So It's going to be a 30 week challenge. I started last Wednesday so June 4th is week 0 because it was just starting weight. So this is where I put in a favor, don't judge me on my weight. I'm putting this all out there in hopes of the trend of no one reading this and I don't have to worry about anyone really knowing. Hahaha Also, I figure if you look at me you know I weigh a lot so it really isn't a secret AND I don't EVER want to be this weight again. My whole life I have been overweight. Ok not whole life, but in school I was always one of the bigger girls. My weight has haunted me pretty much my whole life and I don't know how many people actually know that about me.

So week 0 I started at 262lbs (remember no judging). My end goal is 200lbs. To put this in perspective when I got pregnant with Ryder a little over 3 years ago I was 215lbs, so it's been awhile since I've been that skinny! (Yes I consider that skinny now).

Back to the candida, to fight it I am doing a cleanse. I'm cutting out sugar, carbs, breads, soda, pork, etc. Pretty much eating chicken, veggies, some fruit, and brown rice/ quinoa. That is the jist of it. I am no as strict as I should be in fear of quiting. I tried this a few months ago and didn't last as long as I wanted to because I felt like I couldn't eat anything. It is a very tough diet especially when you are around others. Last night we had a family potluck so I ate the guacomole we brought (I ate it white blue corn chips which may be a no no, but I gotta do something), fruit salad, chicken without the skin, and a little bit of chili. I really wanted the potato dishes, but those are off limits.

In addition to just diet I am adding in doTERRA Supplements. First is their lifelong vitality supplements (LLV). There are reccommended to everyone. People have seen huge improvements from them! I've just been taking them for a little over 2 weeks and I'm not up to a full dose yet so I can't personally testify. I am also doing a supplement called Zendocrine and then GX Assist for 10 days and then PB Assist after that. Here is a link to info on all of those. This part of the cleanse I am only doing for 1 month except for the LLV I am planning on doing that as long as I can afford it.

In addition to those supplements I am also adding doTERRA's metabolic blend Slim & Sassy. This comes in oil form as well as soft gels. For this first week all I have done is the softgels 3 times a week. And then I've just done the oil blend on my ring finger (My ring can't come off so I'm hoping this will help slim it down faster than the rest of me). They also have Trim Shakes that are meal replacements. Those have been great to make a quick "meal" I usually blend it with a little fruit and kale or spinach. (You can see more about slim & sassy in the link above.

The last time I did this cleanse I started using Slim & Sassy in the beginning, but stopped after a week or 2. Not really sure why. After I stopped that is when I really started craving and wanting the other food. I'm sticking with slim & sassy this time!

If you want to take this challenge with me go for it! I've made me a little chart to put in the bathroom by our scale to record everything and to remind me all day. Everytime I go potty I'll see it! And since I'm drinking a ton of water I go a lot. My week starts on Wednesday, but you can do whatever you want. I did starting weigh in last week and week 1 is this week, however if you are just starting and want to be done in 30 weeks then starting weight will be week 1 as well. Also, every 6 weeks or so there is a spot to put your goal for that week. That way you help yourself work up to the end result.

Now when I say join me I don't mean you have to do the whole cleanse part, just eat healthier than you do now. Also remember that the key to weigh loss is diet AND excersise (cardio & weight lifting). My awesome sister-in-law and I are working out a gym schedule so we can swap baby sitting so we can go 2-3 tiems a week. Hopefully more after a week or so.

With this all said I weighed myself today (no quite a full week) and I'm down 4 pounds! It is motivating. I know that it wont drop as fast later on, this is because it is a huge change in the way I eat. I just want to take advantage of it while I can.

If you are taking this challenge with me I would love to know about it! Good Luck if you do! And send happy thoughts my way!

***The doTERRA link posted is to my personal shop. You can order through that if you have essential oils you want to try or you can contact me directly. Those are retail prices, if you are interested in getting them cheaper it is super easy. Week 5 updateSo it's been 5 weeks since we started and I'm about 15 pounds lost! I feel great! Hungry, but great! We have been trying really hard to not do our favorite late night snacking. We are eating less, but more often and working out more. On Saturday we went on a 20 mile bike ride! I was so proud of myself, it was tough, but I did it and want to do it again. I love how biking has become a family hobby!

So as I mentioned in a introduction post about this contest, the person who loses the most percentage wins the $140 and the person in 2nd place gets their $20 back. After another month of not getting pregnant, I have found new motivation! Lose weight and you can get pregnant!!!

Now I fully understand that my weight might not be what's keeping me from getting pregnant, but I think it is a possibility. So instead of thinking what I could spend with the $140 it's I wonder when my due date would be, I wonder if we will have another boy next or get our little girl!

Chase has held the title so far, but the last 2 weeks he's gained weight back (which suck because he's been working hard too!). I've been in 2nd place most of the time, but slipped into 5th place this past weigh in. But this week has been great so far and everyone is really close to each other it is anyone's game!C.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-19170272262278009932013-11-03T10:12:00.000-07:002013-11-03T10:12:14.798-07:00Thankful: Day 2 and Ryderbug BoutiqueCourtney: I'm grateful for extended family as well. They are so much fun. I love my in-laws too. I'm so glad for the people who married into my family and for the family I married into. I feel like my relationships with them are getting closer and we are hanging out a little more.

Today I hosted a boutique at my house for people to come and sell their items. I had my Ryderbug stuff, Barb did her bags and cards, Ashlee set up Scentsy, Stephanie sells chunky necklaces, Jen did her graphic home prints and invitations, Karen was doing wood signs, and My mom was selling cinnamon rolls and cookies. Then there were 2 other friends there. It was so much fun being surrounded by family! It was a great time. We all had at least one sale and most did really well for being such a small event. Looking forward to giving the spring a try. Definitely again next Fall. It was great to have their support and to be able to support them in their little shops.

Ryder: BedC.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-19529597771425405502013-11-01T10:03:00.000-07:002013-11-03T10:06:56.352-07:00Thankful: Day 1HAPPY NOVEMBER!!!

So I wanted to things we are grateful for in November, at least leading up to Thanksgiving. Here are mine and Ryder's answers. Chase can do this if he so pleases...

Courtney: I am grateful for my family! I love them so much and can't imagine life without them. They are such a great support to me in all of my crazy ideas. Seriously they are the best!
I haven't been doing to great so far. The first day we didn't really have much healthy stuff in our house, the 2nd day I had a Mystery Shop so I had Panda Express for lunch.

Today I had made a smootie, but that doesn't fill me up at all! We had some hard boiled eggs so I thought, how about an egg salad sandwich? I love egg salad sandwiches! The toasted bread, the white bread, the mayo! Ugh, but I can't do a mayo filled sandwich when I am trying to eat healthy. Enter hummus...

So I have been wanting to make my own hummus for quite a while now sole because it is pretty healthy. I'm actually never been a fan of it, but it's growing on me. And besides the beans, everything else I had on hand so it's fairly cheap too! I used this recipe except did chili power in place of cayenne because I didn't have any. Pureed it in my food processor and it was done!

According to somewhere it's 80 calories for 2T. So I put 1T on my sandwich and used the other tablespoon for carrots. A little goes a long way when dipping. I still had a good amount left on my plate that I added to my sandwich.

I think it's a little bland and missing something? Maybe the cayenne would solve it.

I also got my arm workout today. I ground up some flax seed with our wheat grinder! I would have just bought the already ground stuff, but Winco was out so I decided to take on the task myself! Do you have any favorite uses/ recipes for flax seed? I'm just planning on using them for extra fiber in smoothies, but other ideas would be great!
The Biggest Loser; Challenge Accepted! Is what we are calling it. Because it is 1. Similar to the show Biggest Loser and 2. 6 out of 8 of us love How I met your mother!

So here is the gist of it. There are 8 of us doing it. We had official weigh ins last night, that was our starting weight. We will do weekly weigh ins on our own to track how we are doing. Then final weigh ins will be on January 18th in the morning so it's a more true weight. The person who looses the most weight percentage wins!

What do they win you may ask? A pretty decent earnings! We are each putting in $20 to participate. So the winner will get $140. Then we are having a 2nd place winner and that person will get their $20 back. In the event of a tie the 2 people will split the $160.

I'm really excited about this! I'm hoping this will be the encouragement I need to jump start a big change! We did a facebook group just for us to track progress, share recipes and tips, etc. We even are having a motivator of the week. That person will be in charge of keeping us pumped! (We'll see how long that goes)

So with that being said, if you have any awesome healthy recipes please send them my way!C.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-50181064553600215222013-04-03T14:08:00.000-07:002013-04-03T14:08:03.805-07:00Where does the time go?Really??? It's sad that I post more on my "craft" blog then my personal life. It's not because things aren't happening because they are. It's just I get a little behind and it seems impossible to catch back up.

So the last few months have been great! Chase got a contract doing the same thing he was doing. Only now he gets benefits. Because of that though his hours changed a little so he had to drop one of his classes. Blessing in disguise, he was able to sign up for another one that was online. So he is taking 3 online classes this semester.

He is still biking around. Unfortunately a few months ago his nice road bike that his Cousin gave him was stolen. We used our tax return to get him a decent hybrid bike. So he is back to biking. He was going to do the Tour de Mesa, but it is $115! Can you believe it??? So I told him to just make is own Tour de Chase.

As far as I go things are unbelievable! The craft blog has been so so. I have very few followers (If you don't follow me please do, you'll probably know more about us from that then this). So I am planning on doing a craft fair in November. One of the things I wanted to sell was a carseat cooler.

Since it is hot now I decided to give it a try and sell them on a facebook group called Mesa Consign. One of my friends saw it and asked it I wanted to sell them on a deal a day website she co operates. So if things go well I'll be selling them on this site all over the country! So I'm going to be popping these out like crazy trying to make as many as I can! So I feel like everything else has been put on hold because of this. This weekend I'll be getting the fabric to get it started! So exciting!

So with this experience I wanted to be able to have a business sounding name so when they describe my product it's not just Courtney, a mom.

SIDE NOTE: I did the top a week ago. Had to stop because I heard a strange noise outside. Went to check it out and Ella had her puppies! Well at that point she only had one. Over the next several hours she ended up with 5 healthy puppies!!! (1 unfortunately didn't make it). So if you are looking for puppies in like 6 weeks let us know!

So as I was saying wanted to get more in the business mode. So I came up with my business name... Ryderbug! It is one of my nicknames for Ryder and I love how it fits! So my Brother Bryan said I should call my carseat cooler a Cool Ryder! LOVE IT!!!

Now onto Ryder. He is a smart little boy! Loves being outside and TV (kind of opposites). We recently took him to Toys 'R Us and let him pick out a toy to buy with his birthday money. He had the best time! He's walk around examining each toy. He ended up getting a Batman and Joker little people and 2 train cars. Not bad for $10! Technically he owes us $.44, but we'll let it slide:)

Tonka & Ella still like to escape the yard. Ella had 5 puppies as mentioned earlier.

Mother's & Father's Day came early this year. I got a Kitchenaid mixer and Chase got a grill! So much fun!

Ryder & I got helmets (we'll order Chase a new one online because they only had 1 in store). I got a new bike seat so my rump doesn't hurt the second I get on the bike. And a bike lock so we can keep our bikes:)

Ryder loves his new hat!

Today Ryder & I went on our first real ride without Daddy! (Well actually it so happened that he didn't have school so Chase rode with us their and then went to work.) We rode to the Library on 1st St and Mesa Dr. it is 2.7 Miles from our house so round trip around 5.5 miles. However we had like an hour brake at the Library so it's not too bad. We go there (Almost) every Thursday for the baby lapsit class. Ryder loves it!
He fell asleep on the way home. He loves it in his trailer. He cries now sometimes when we get in the car, he'd rather take the bikes. We are hoping to make bikes a main way of transportation for us, a little at a time...
Ryder's I'm so smart moment of the
day...

Earlier today I went to the restroom.
Yep, I go too! I used up the last of the toilet paper and like usual,
I got side tracked and forgot to replace the roll. So later when I
needed to go again I find myself sitting on the toilet without any
tp... What do I do??? Luckily for me, like usual Ryder followed me
into the bathroom. I showed him the empty roll and said “Ryder, can
you go in the other bathroom and get me the toilet paper?” He left
and came back with the roll! What a smart boy! Then he told me he
needed to “poop” which he says for poop and pee so I set him on
the toilet. I left him to do his thing while I replaced the TP in the
other bathroom. Checked on him and he peed! What a big/ smart boy!

We have been smoothie crazy in the Gibson home lately! They are so good!!! Plus fruit has been pretty cheap lately too. Tonight we had a fun time, Ryder even got to help put everything in the blender. He is such a good helper!!!

Story behind the mugs. We love A&W Rootbeer. Unfortunately there aren't many around anymore. On our Honeymoon almost 3 years ago we stopped at one on our way to the Grand Canyon. That is where we got the 2 big mugs. Then when we were in Washington when Ryder was 3 weeks old we went to one there and got 2 little shot glass mugs. It is adorable!!!

Someday I'll get better at this...

Ryder is 19 months old and such a big boy! I cannot believe how smart he is. I thought I'd take the time to record the smart, silly, fun things he's up to...

He is saying so much I can't even count how many words. His newest are Boo Boo (Blue's Clues with hand motions and everything), more, bebe (baby), da (dad)

He likes to play a game where he'll point to himself and say bebe? And then he'll point to everyone else to see if they are a bebe. Today he started seeing if he was Da da?

He loves watching Blue's Clues and still like The Wiggles

He absolutely loves being outside and helping his daddy any way he can.

He is starting to be able to match animals. We have a file folder game where you match the head of an animal with the tail and he gets most of them right. He gets a few of the colors right. He also has a animal puzzle and he knows where the animals go, he just doesn't quite know how to line them up.

Ryder got a new pet, a beta fish named Red.

He had his first smoothie last night and LOVED it! It was banana and strawberry. He even got a big boy cup and only spilled once

We went on a family date for Labor Day. We went to the Dollar Theater and saw Lorax. He did great when he was eating popcorn, but then he wanted to get down and play. After that we went to the little play area at the mall. He had fun!

Are we hitting the "terrible twos" already??? We are starting to put Ryder in time out, mainly when it's something we tell him not to over and over again. Or when it's something really bad that we really don't want him to do.

We use to have him fold his arms. That lasted about a day, I didn't want him to feel like he's always in trouble when we tell him to fold his arms for prayer.

We then switched to putting his hands on his head. So we'll have him stand up against something (wall, couch, cabinet etc.) and put his hands on his head. We leave him there for around a minute (if that) and have him say sorry and explain why he was in time out.

I feel like even though he is only 18 months old he understands. My proof... after he gets out of time out he will go and do that thing that he was just in time out for and then put himself in time out.

Aye aye aye, do any of you have time out success methods? I'm not quite sure he is really getting it...

C.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-29551680332916308962012-08-14T16:26:00.000-07:002012-08-14T16:27:11.325-07:00New Slide

I am SO behind on this! I can't believe it. This should be fun, I don't know why sometimes I get into this rut and think it's a chore. Most of my blogging is done on my craft blog now-a-days, but I don't post a lot of the personal Ryder growing up stuff.

I'm going to do a bunch of posts and hopefully get myself caught up. Instead of starting with where I left off I'm going to go with most recent and then continue on from here. Then back track whenever I have the time/ motivation.

On facebook I am in a few "virtual yard selling groups". I put that I was in search of a kids slide. I was. Ryder LOVES being outside, but we have nothing for him to play with out there except dirt and sticks (which he loves). Someone had a slide they were getting rid of and was willing to take $5 for it! I was so excited!!! The only downside was that it was in San Tan Valley, like a 45 minute drive. I just couldn't pass this up. It's like a $70 slide for 5 bucks!

So we hopped in the car for FHE and had a fun drive. When we got home none of us could wait to put it back together. And Ryder couldn't wait to test it out. As Chase was still screwing in a piece we started going...

Right now he is 16 1/2 months old. He amazes me everyday at the things he is learning!

He is awesome at body parts! He knows Head, eyes, ears, nose, mouth, elbow, fingers, belly button, toes, feet and we are working on knees. Usually when someone asks, "Ryder where is your_______?" He points to his and then points to everyone else's in the room. It gets a little awkward when it's bellybutton. Hahaha

He loves to read! (He may in fact be squealing for me to read him a book right now.) Throughout the day he will bring me books to read to him. And anytime I change his diaper he wants me to read to him. So I'll usually read one to him and then he "reads" it while I change his diaper. He doesn't really have a favorite book, but there are some he doesn't like as much as others. I'm slowly, but surely making him a quietbook. Hopefully he will LOVE that book.

He eats pretty much everything we give him. I have no idea what his favorites are. Cheese, fruit, cottage cheese. His newest food is chips. Today at the summer free lunch program at Harris Elementary they had Nachos. I let him eat it to see how he did and he loved it! He did so good! He loves to dip his food! I try to include a dip when I can. He usually will just suck off the dip and then eat what ever was dipped. We have been so lucky that Ryder is such a good eater!

Ryder's vocabulary is expanding! The other day we went to the Mesa Arizona Temple and walked around the visitors center. Ryder would point to the pictures of Jesus and say "Jeez". If that doesn't make me feel like a good Mom I don't know what does. Our son knows who Jesus is!!! Some of his other new words is Poot (poop), Sit (used around the dogs, will also point to the ground kind of like how we do when we tell them to sit), boot (Book), He says Dat (meaning he wants something, replacing "ink" if you read his 15 month post). Ball is still his most used word.

On top of vocal communication Ryder does some sign language. He mostly does More and is starting to do Please. I'm really hoping he'll get the hang of please soon. Right now he just screams...

We love our Ryder Bug and are so grateful to have him in our life!C.Gibsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07423015875183149241noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1374191443695404819.post-41905817555049176342012-06-11T09:13:00.001-07:002012-06-11T09:13:31.220-07:00We Bought a ZooI have been really bad at posting lately. Chase is home a lot more since it's summer so I waste a lot less time. Not the the blog is a waste of time, but I usually thinking about updating after I've wasted time on Pinterest of just googling everything imaginable. I will try to do a few update posts this week, but no promises.

Saturday We went to Mesquite Jr High for my Niece Brittney's 6th Birthday Party! It's crazy how old these kids are getting. On the way home we were hungry so we stopped at Fili Bs and got ourselves a feast. Ryder was asleep by the time we got out of the pool parking lot so we knew he'd be out for awhile so we decided to rent a movie too. We rented We Bought a Zoo from Redbox with our free code:)

It was a really good movie. Nothing really bad in it which I love. The romance was hardly even there. The only reason I even bring this up is because something funny happened that I wanted to share. Half way through the movie Chase says, "this is seems like the type of movie someone would cry in." He turns to me, "Are you crying?" HAhahaha yep it is the kind of movie someone wold cry in. Me being that someone. I am such a baby when it comes to movies and everything really. I see someone cry and I have to do everything in my power so I don't cry too. I hate it. Even if I don't know the person or they are crying over something that isn't really necessary to cry over. I cry along. SO ANNOYING!

If you haven't seen it, rent it! It was really good. If you are anything like me though, you've been warned.

First things First! I had a wonderful Mother's Day! I'm so lucky to be a Mother to my sweet Ryder. He makes being a mom so much fun and I love every second of it!

Chase was very sweet and got me a few gifts:)

We have a unofficially tradition that Mother's Day and Father's Day we do like a little scavenger hunt, the gift are spread over the house.

I woke up and went potty to find a clean bathroom and some shea butter and sugar scrub. I felt so pampered after using it!

Then in the kitchen I found a step stool which is perfect because I can't reach a lot of shelves in out home. Last was a new wallet with my stuff already loaded into in.

We went to church where our ward gave all the Mother's a rose. (I think it's a great idea and all, but personally I thought the flower was more of a hassle. I had to carefully carry it around church all day and then by the time I got home it was withered.

We had Mother's Day with the Packer's on Saturday night. We got my mom some of the easy find lid tubberware because she has been complaining about her tubberware for so long! I also got her a cork board frame and some homemade button thumbtacks. See them on my craft blog here.

For Chase's mom we got her frames with all the kid's Wedding Pictures in them. She had been talking about this for a long time (we have too) so finally we just did it. Unfortunately, in some spaces the frames are too big so we need to trade them in for ones with smaller edges. She LOVED the idea though.

We got to Skype with Dallin. He is serving in Spain. One more time to talk to him and he'll be home!

Sunday Night we had a international themed potluck with the Gibson's. Chase made a soup from his Mission in South Africa called something with a click in it. English version is Samp and Beans. It was really good and we are thinking of adding it to our list of dinners. He also made a dessert that he loved there. He talks about it all the time. It's called Mulva Pudding even though it is more of a cake. It is very rich!

------------------------------------------------------

So Ryder is getting to that wonderful stage where he will actually watch TV. Well really movies since out TV doesn't actually play TV, not even local channels. Maybe some day. He especially loves the Wiggles! We watch Curious George on the computer through Netflix (someday will get it hooked up through the Wii). Here are some pictures I took of him watching his shows. Hahah

Now comes the challenge of limiting time on Tv/ computer. It is so easy to just put on a movie to keep him entertained.

I can't sneak up on this kid!

I bought this book at Seagull Book. He loves it! It was $1.99 it rattles and when you pull the link and let go it vibrates.

It was completely out of no where. All of a sudden I get a call from Chase seeing how the dogs were because it was pouring where he was. Sure enough there was a pretty heavy rain coming down.

I took this opportunity to re-introduce Ryder with rain. Living in Arizona it doesn't come around very often and I didn't want to miss this chance.

He was the perfect patient at the Doctors Office. I'm kind of annoyed with the Dr right now because the Dr. we had when Ryder was first born moved to a different office or I don't even know what happened to him. I was bummed because I really liked him. So I met with the new Dr and liked him even more. Well now he is gone. I'm starting to consider switching to a different Dr. Not only have the Docs been changing, but the waiting room doesn't have anything in it for kids. No toys or books! They do have a well room and a sick room that is actually separated by a wall! (My sister went to one that was separated by a huge fish take so sick air could get in and out and then you had to walk through the sick room to get to the room. No sense at all!). The office I go to also has a movie playing which helps.

Anyways here are his stats:
Height: 31 inches 50%
Weight: 24lbs 12 oz 50%
Head: 49 inches 90%

Some of the questions asked:

How many words can he say? Around 5 consistently

How many hours is he sleeping a day? Around 13

Can he point out body parts? Sometimes. Ryder where is your nose, nothing. Ryder where is your eyes Nailed it! We've really only worked on eyes and nose and ears.

Does he do things you ask him to do. Ex. go get your shoes and bring them to Mommy. (2 part commands). Yes he does for the most part.

Does he interact with other kids. More than just playing beside them. Yes! He thinks he can do everything the big kids can.

Does he know how to do stairs? Yes he crawls up and down them.

Does he point out animals like in books? Only dog

Does he listen to you read to him. Yes he loves books!

How is his appetite? He eats pretty much anything we give him.

How does he act when you leave him with someone else, like Grandma? He does fine for the most part. Usually if he is tired that is when he fusses when we leave.

Does he use a spoon when eating? I give him one with almost every meal, but he just holds it in one hand and eats with the other one. Sometimes he'll stab at food with the wrong end of the spoon.

They said that he was doing great! He had to get 2 shots:( He handled it pretty well though. he is such a tough guy! Next appointment will be in August.
